In January 2022 two of our long serving clients entrusted us to carry out the roof replacement of their main pitched roof on their new home in Egham Hill.

Customer meeting

We conducted an extensive meeting to explore options, ascertain their exact project requirements, and ensure clear communication on achievable goals.

Roof inspection

The roof, which had not been replaced since its construction, showed signs of deterioration with most of the old clay tiles decaying. It lacked a felt membrane underneath the tiles and any form of insulation.

Work completed

By the conclusion of the third week, the entire roof had been stripped, insulated, and replaced with a new roof. The customer opted for the Marley medium mixed brindle plain tile, bonnet hips, and new lead valleys , expressing great satisfaction with the project's successful completion.

Marsham Lodge

Marsham Lodge is an idyllic estate in Gerrards Cross containing identical houses designed by British designer and architect Eric Lyons in 1969. Although well-designed, these houses were constructed without any roof or loft insulation.

Evaluation of the Project

All the roofs in the estate are reaching the end of their lifespan and require replacement. QRS Roofing has been honored to be selected as the contractor for carrying out these replacements.

Progress on the Roof Replacement

We have successfully replaced the roofs and enhanced the insulation by utilising a blend of 100mm rock wool loft insulation along with the addition of TLX Gold insulated breather membrane. The response to the thermal efficiency of the new roofs has been exceptionally positive.

Considerate Materials and Approaches

We have maintained the original design intent of the properties by incorporating Eternit artificial slates to harmonise with the existing roof.

Bannits House

Bannits house is a house in Chorleywood that was built in 1908 and has previously been used for film & TV, most recently for a Hollywood rom-com.

Assessment of the project

The property underwent a recent refurbishment, and we were commissioned to install a new flat roof at the back of the building. Opting for the Flexitec 2020 fiberglass overlay system required us to remove the existing single-ply membrane.

Swift completion of the project

In just one week, we installed over 100 square meters, leaving the client thrilled with the final result and their brand-new 20-year guarantee.
